Dodo's Kitchen (“we”, “us”) runs dodoskitchen.in from Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh 533001, India. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our website, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to the processing of your data as described here.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only in hashed (encrypted) form; we never see them in plain text.
- Order and delivery details: name, phone number, alternate phone number, email address, delivery address, landmark and pincode, and the items you order.
- Location for delivery: the pincode you enter, so we can check whether we deliver to you and show delivery charges and timelines.
- Promo codes: for some offers we ask for your phone number to check that the offer is used once per customer.
- Reviews: the rating and text you choose to post on a product.
- Messages and enquiries: whatever you send us on WhatsApp, by email or by phone, including wholesale enquiries.
- Payment: we currently accept Cash on Delivery only and do not collect card, UPI or bank details. If we add online payments, they will be handled by an RBI-authorised payment gateway and we will not store your card details.
2. How we use your information
- To process, pack, ship and deliver your orders, and to collect payment on delivery.
- To send order confirmations, delivery and tracking updates by SMS, WhatsApp or email.
- To manage your account, wishlist and order history.
- To answer your questions, handle complaints and process returns or refunds.
- To apply promo codes and bundle discounts fairly and prevent misuse.
- To keep the records we are required to keep under Indian tax and accounting laws.
- To send offers or news, only if you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data.
3. Who we share it with
We share only what is needed for each purpose, with:
- Courier and logistics partners: your name, phone number and delivery address, to deliver your order.
- Hosting and database providers: the cloud services that run our website and store our data (including Supabase).
- Messaging providers: WhatsApp, email and SMS services we use to talk to you.
- Payment gateways: only if online payments are enabled in future.
- Authorities: when required by law, court order or to prevent fraud.
Some of these providers may store or process data on servers outside India. We use reputable providers and only share data for the purposes above.
4. Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising or analytics trackers. We use a small number of essential items stored in your browser: a login cookie and token to keep you signed in, and local storage to remember your cart and delivery pincode. These are needed for the website to work. If you block them, you may not be able to sign in or keep items in your cart.
5. How long we keep your data
We keep your account data while your account is active. Order and invoice records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require. Messages and enquiries are kept only as long as needed to help you. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except records we are legally required to keep.
6. Your rights
Under Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
- Ask us to correct, complete or update your data.
- Ask us to erase your data. You can also delete your account yourself from the account menu (Delete Account).
- Withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect processing done before, but we may then be unable to fulfil orders.
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity.
- Raise a grievance with us (details below). If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, contact our Grievance Officer at dodoskitchen9@gmail.com or +91 93212 03839. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
7. How we protect your data
We use reasonable security practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and access limited to the people who need it. No method of storage or transfer is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will inform you and the authorities as required by law if a breach affects you.
8. Children
Our website is meant for adults. Orders should be placed by persons aged 18 or above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe a child has shared data with us, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on the website. See also our Terms & Conditions.
